cozy colorado

so i decided it was time for a fresh new look...must be the spring weather we've been having here, it's got me in the mood for change. i haven't quite decided yet if i like it, so if it changes again in the near future, don't be alarmed. of course if you're ADD like me...you'll be fine.

i know i have so much to update you on as far as the job is concerned, and i will get to that probably later this week. but for now, i just want to concentrate on how much I LOVE COLORADO!!!

we've been here for a little over 9 months now, and i fall in love with this city more and more every day. it's taking a long time to settle in, and just when we're feeling somewhat settled, we're getting ready to uproot again and move...only this time its just across town. this move is the one that will make us feel grounded again. it'll be our place, and we will finally unpack the rest of our boxes, hang some pictures, put up some decor, and make it feel homey again. it'll be fun to rediscover things i haven't used since we packed up our house in Kansas. moving sucks but i feel so much more prepared this time around...we saved all the boxes we unpacked when we got here, so that's already taken care of. and we purposely didn't unpack a lot of stuff, so there's not too much to pack up to begin with. the physical moving of everything will be a challenge, b/c i don't lift heavy things b/c i'm weak and i'll complain and it'll frustrate john so we just don't even go there. hopefully he'll get some friends from work to come and help. i'm much better at getting beer and sandwiches and keeping everyone happy that way. :)

but back to THIS CITY!! everyday i wake up and look out my window, i have a beautiful view of the mountains. it's just a constant reminder to me to get moving...there is so much to offer in just that one aspect. people here are so active, and you can see it even in the vehicles people choose to drive. i've never seen so many jeeps and outbacks in one place. the outback is quickly becoming a front-runner on our TRV (tracer replacement vehicle) list. then there's old town fort collins. so many coffee shops to choose from, and i've already found a favorite. it's got comfy furniture and it's a cozy atmosphere. we're not far from Denver, but far enough from the metropolis of it all. anyway, i could go on and on...but so far we are just really happy here.

i guess what made me realize this is last week i was in ohio for a work training. at this training were people from all over the country...seattle, dc, new jersey, kansas, and so on. not one time that someone named where they were from did i think 'ohhh, i'd love to live there.' and i'm notorious for that, always wanting to be where i'm not. and the more that i got to know some of the people and talk about where we're from...i realized i was more excited to share about colorado than i was to hear about what its like to live in DC or anywhere else. :)

anyway, i came home from the training with two thoughts: 1) i truly love it here, and 2) i will NEVER live in Ohio.
